The Matrix Trust – all smiles

At the top of the High Street in Guildford is the Pavillion where the Matrix Trust runs programs for young people.

It was a pleasure for HSYA Council member Janet Tait and I to present to The Matrix Trust a certificate from the High Sheriff’s Youth awards in recognition for what they do to make Surreys communities safer.

Visit to SunnyDown School

Thank you to Sunnydown School at Caterham for inviting Bill and I to see their school. Citizenship’s bestowed at County Hall

The Citizenship ceremony undertaken at County Hall, for 30 new Citizens is beautifully and simply managed. For the citizens it is the end of a lengthy process, and obviously the beginning of life as a UK Citizen. The new citizens are warmly welcomed to Surrey.( It is a legal requirement that you take a citizenship pledge and an oath or allegiance at a citizenship ceremony, within 90 days of receiving your invitation.)

There are many photographs taken but not so many of The Deputy Superintendent Registrar

and the High sheriffs Voluntary police cadet ,see below

Country Trust

I need to share the meeting I had with Jill Attenborough CEO of The Country Trust. The 3 programs of work that the Trust are doing are so exciting and is enabling a growing number of disadvantaged or disabled children to learn about, and access food, farming and the countryside, day visits to working farms, residential visits and year-long programs to explore growing, cooking and selling food. What brilliant work, More of this for Surrey!
