LinkAble – supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people to create the life they want to live.
The High Sheriff paid a visit to ‘LinkAble’, based in Woking – a charity which helps to provides people with new skills and opportunities to help them live the life they want to live. Each year, LinkAble provides over 300 children, young people, and adults with a wide range of activities through weekly groups, holiday schemes, and day trips.
LinkAble’s CEO, Sue Stockman said, “We were delighted to welcome Mr Shahid Azeem, the High Sheriff of Surrey for a tour of LinkAble. This included viewing our much-loved sensory room, soft play area, outdoor space and brand-new kitchen garden which our adults will use to grow vegetables for cooking sessions. We are thrilled with Mr Azeem’s offer of future collaboration and will benefit from his many local connections. We know his involvement will greatly aid LinkAble’s mission to support local people with a learning disability and autism to develop skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.”
Mr Azeem said. “Organisations like LinkAble are vital in our communities to enhance the lives of people who need this type of support. It was encouraging to see the facilities that LinkAble provide and to meet the team in Woking – A big thank you to them for their professionalism, care and commitment.”
