Ceremonial Colours at TS. Queen Charlotte UNIT 0164

It was an honour and privilege to be invited by OIC, Colour Sergeant Dave Thomas (centre), and Unit Chairman Jim Robertson (my left), to witness ceremonial Colours and meet Trustees, staff, other volunteers, parents, supporters and the various divisions of sea cadets themselves;

This thriving and most impressive Unit could not be better located in Guildford, and the opportunity for a wide variety of activities on the water is a major source of attraction for the cadets. Another favourite is ‘mat surfing’, which I witnessed during the evening – brilliant fun, but perhaps not at my stage of life (although we did manage to eliminate an enemy sniper later in the evening!) A memorable visit with inspiring and professional volunteers, supporters and young people – thank you all for your hospitality; keep up the great work!
