Age UK Surrey Carol Concert Draws Support Across The County!
The Chairman, John Burbridge (centre), was delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant, Michael More-Molyneux, and the massed ranks of the Mayors and Chairs across Surrey, to a packed Cathedral for this hugely popular annual Carol Service on behalf of Age UK Surrey. It is so important at this time of year that we all support this excellent charity providing vital services in later life for so many in the community. From left; Brian Perry (Mayor’s Consort, Runnymede); Dolsie Clarke (Mayor of Runnymede); Polly Russell-Stracey (Mayor’s Consort, Waverley); Denise Le Gal (Mayor, Waverley); Raj Haque (Chairman Mole Valley); Lynda Billington (Deputy Mayoress, Guildford); Richard Billington (Deputy Mayor of Guildford); Will Forster (Mayor of Woking); Shweta Kapadia (Mayor of Elmbridge) and Ramesh Kapadia (Mayor’s Consort, Elmbridge).
The Guildford Cathedral Singers were perfect, as ever, and organist Martina Smyth excelled! The Rock Choir numbered over 100 members, and were conducted by the talented Tom George as they gave beautiful renditions of Hallelujah and Keeping the Dream Alive, in addition to a faultless carol medley.
A memorable occasion indeed!
